As the pioneer batch of Nanyang Polytechnic graduate, Hwee Lin has started her career as an Occupational Therapist in 1995 and obtained her Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Sydney in 1999. She has more than 25 years of clinical, training and management experience in the healthcare and community sector.
As the senior manager of SPD Therapy Hub, Hwee Lin oversees the Allied Health team in the adult and elderly programmes, supporting the therapists in the various programmes in the community sectors. In addition to the management work, Hwee Lin enjoys her clinical work with the adult and elderly population and having the opportunity to train and mentor the junior therapists in her course of work. In the early days, she was actively involved in the accessibility arena. She had served in the National Review Committee on “Code on Accessibility in the Built Environment” and involved in the BCA Universal Design Award Judging Panel to encourage builders and corporate companies to work towards making Singapore an inclusive and barrier free society.
Hwee Lin has also contributed to the Occupational Therapy community in her various engagements with Allied Health Profession Council, Singapore Institute of Technology and Social Service Social Services SkillsFuture Tripartite Taskforce.
She hopes that she will be able to continue to contribute to the growth of the allied health profession in the social service sector in the years to come.
