It's a distinguished programme aimed at recognising the most accomplished professionals in the social service sector, creating a vibrant community of sector leaders dedicated to driving positive change, and serving as mentors and inspirations for the next generation of sector leaders.

Eligibility criteria:

To be part of the Social Service Fellowship, we welcome dedicated professionals who meet these criteria:

  • You must be a Singapore Citizen.
  • You must be a Counsellor, Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC), Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech Therapist, General Management Representative, or any other professional actively contributing to the social service sector.
  • You should have at least 10 years of current and relevant work experience in the social service or associated sectors, such as healthcare.

Selection criteria:

You will be assessed on the following aspects by the Social Service Fellowship Selection Panel:

  • Level of professional expertise.
  • Impact of past, existing, and future contributions to the social service sector.
  • Demonstration of leadership competencies.

Selection process:

All applications will be rigorously reviewed by the Social Service Fellowship Selection Panel, which includes sector leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Social and Family Development and NCSS management.

Interviews may be conducted when necessary. The decision of the selection panel is final.

Appointment Terms and Service Recognition

Once appointed as a Social Service Fellow for a three-year term, you'll play a key role in improving the social service sector. This involves contributing your expertise in areas such as training, mentoring, sector development, or outreach work.

As a Social Service Fellow, you are recognised as a leader in your field of expertise within the social service sector. In appreciation of your professional expertise and sector-wide contributions, you will receive:

  • A certificate and a letter of appointment
  • A Service Recognition Award of $12,000 at the end of each year of your appointment (subject to fulfilling 80 hours of sector contribution)
