Mrs June Tham

For over three decades, June has been part of a generation involved in the formative years of early intervention and special needs in Singapore. June brings with her a wealth of experience through the governance of large organisations, such as APSN and Rainbow Centre, in her role as the then executive director.
June was instrumental in the redevelopment of two purpose-built special education schools for students from infants to 18 years of age. To provide a holistic intervention service to meet the needs, she set up a resource training and consultancy unit for development of professionals, a dental clinic for students, and training and support services for caregivers. She initiated the publication of three editions of Rainbow Dreams, a resource publication on diagnoses, medical and conditions of disabilities, treatment programmes and coping and adjustment issues and strategies as the co-author and co editor to promote awareness and education on special needs.
In 2016, June was first appointed as a Social Service Fellow. June served on the Implementation Advisory Panel to study the implementation of compulsory education needs under the Ministry of Education. She co-chaired the inaugural Early Intervention Conference 2018 with ten social service agencies providing early intervention programmes. Among her other commitments, she is a Panel Advisor with the Youth Court, Deputy Head for the Committee on Fostering with the Ministry of Social and Family Development, Leadership Development Selection Panel with the National Council of Social Service, and Resource Member with the Social Service Skills Future Tripartite Taskforce.
Among her many qualifications, June holds a Master of Education, certification in autism and early intervention in the United States, and attended a Leadership programme at the Harvard Business School under the Toteboard scholarship.
