Early Intervention

An Early Intervention Teacher works with infants and children below the age of 7 with special needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as physical, sensory, intellectual or multiple disabilities. As an Early Intervention Teacher, you’ll help children in need to develop and maximise their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

The role of an Early Intervention Teacher requires an understanding of child development from a holistic perspective, as well as the unique needs of each child and how to apply teaching strategies to help them learn best.
  • Employ intervention strategies to improve and enhance the development of their communication, cognition, sensory-motor and social skills.
  • Collect and analyse student data and other records for planning and preparation.
  • Conduct assessments periodically to evaluate the needs and progress of each student.
  • Close collaboration with the students' families and other professionals to help each child achieve their personalised development goals.
  • Conduct lesson plans and create learning aids
