Volunteer Management Advocacy as a strategy to uplift an organisation's growth involves actively engaging leaders and board members of Social Service Agencies (SSAs) to recognise and address the strategic importance of Volunteer Management. By emphasising the pivotal role that Volunteer Management Practitioners (VMPs) play in advancing the organisation's mission and goals, this advocacy seeks to garner support and commitment from key decision-makers.
Through collaborative efforts and a shared understanding of the value of effective Volunteer Management, SSAs can harness the collective power to drive positive change, enhance service delivery, and ultimately contribute to the overall growth and impact of the organisation.
Here are some initiatives supporting Volunteer Management Advocacy:
Celebrated annually on 5 November, it is a day to recognise and appreciate the contributions made by volunteer managers internationally. Since 2020, NCSS runs a social media campaign to spread awareness on the role of volunteer managers in leading their organisations to optimise volunteer resources for the enhancement of service delivery and the transformation of organisational growth.
Our IVMD campaigns has gained national attention, and many organisations from SSAs to NPOs, public agencies and grassroots initiatives have joined us in celebrating and recognising their volunteer managers for their great work and contributions.
The Volunteer Management Leadership Series (VMLS) is a thoughtfully curated series of engagement sessions designed specifically for board and senior leadership from the 3P Sectors. These sessions aim to support and enhance volunteer management strategies within their agencies. The objectives of this initiative are:
01. Recognise Impact: Appreciate how volunteer managers boost manpower capacity, enhancing the organisation's strategic outcomes through volunteers. | 02. Embrace Vital Functions: Acknowledge volunteer management's crucial role in fortifying services, serving as a catalyst for the organisation's strategic plans and goals. | 03.
