2023 highlights

The fifth run of the signature youth leadership programme was held from 23 August to 25 August 2023 at PARKROYAL on Beach Road. 40 youth leaders from the social service, healthcare, public and private sectors gathered at a serene sanctuary to learn, network, reflect on the sharing by guest speakers, and discuss issues at a macro level.

2023’s theme centered around ‘Strengthening Connections, Partnering for Impact”, took participants on a journey of

  1. building connections within the community through their personal stories of why,
  2. seeking new perspectives and brining innovation into work and
  3. learning to forge a future amidst uncertainty.

Participants cherished the opportunities to hear personal and authentic sharing by prominent speakers such as Madam Halimah Yacob, former President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Ministry of Social and Family Development and Mr Aaron Maniam, Fellow of Practice and Director, Digital Transformation Education Programme (Oxford Blavatnik School).

In addition to engagement sessions and sharing by invited speakers, participants embarked on a learning journey to Singapore Changi Airport where they learned how the Changi Airport Group pivoted their service and operations during the pandemic.

They were also taken on a community trail at Ang Mo Kio, led by community activators (resident contributors) and facilitated by Allkin Singapore Community Development team. Through this trail, participants witnessed how a community can operate through a strengths-based approach.
