Membership Types

NCSS offers two membership categories:

Full membership is applicable to agencies whose aims and objects are consistent with those of the Council and provides a bona fide direct social service as its a primary function, which helps to meet existing needs of the community.

Associate membership is applicable to agencies whose aims and objects are consistent with those of the Council and has an active interest in social service but does not provide a direct social service as its primary function.

Membership Eligibility

To be eligible for NCSS membership, your social service agency must meet the following requirements:

Be registered under the Business Registration Act, Societies Act, incorporated under the Companies Act, or established by or under any written law.
Have a minimum of two years of continuous operation.
Align your agency's objectives with the social service sector.
For Full Membership, demonstrate structured programmes with clear objectives, regular activities, and dedicated staff or volunteers.
Maintain independent control over your agency, with less than one-third of the board being staff of the agency.

Membership Obligation and Fees

NCSS members are required to fulfil the obligations as prescribed in the NCSS Act and its Subsidiary Legislations. Briefly, members are required to:

Submit to NCSS a certified copy of their annual report, audited accounts and balance-sheet within six months from the end of their financial year;
Furnish to NCSS information with respect to its agency and functions;
Comply with such standards and guidelines for the management and administration of, and the provision of social service which may from time to time be issued by NCSS;
Make timely payment of membership fees.

^A 10% discount is applicable to Triennial membership fees. The Council reserves the right to review and adjust these fees, which will undergo revision from 2024 onwards in alignment with the GST adjustment to 9%.

Once you have completed and submitted your application in full, please allow us up to 3 working days to process your request. During this brief period, we will carefully review your submission and respond promptly.
