Overview
To strengthen Board leadership and governance in the social service sector, NCSS has initiatives to help SSA Boards find the right talent and equip them with the right skills and competencies.
Boards are recommended to do regular Board refreshes to include diverse perspectives to navigate an increasingly complex ecosystem, according to the Code of Governance.
It is crucial that charities plan ahead and establish a pipeline of Board Members, given COG’s 10-year tenure limit for Board Members and specific diversity indicators such as gender, skills and age.
