Rehabilitating persons with disabilities into mainstream society
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare and social service sectors, Pal brings with him an extensive network and expertise on disability issues. With his wealth of knowledge, Pal is passionate about helping to grow the sector and nurture the next generation of sector leaders. As Chief Executive Officer of SPD, he has transformed the agency to carry out its mission of integrating persons with disabilities into the community.
Pal has been training and mentoring young professionals, and active in sector development work. He serves on committees and advisory panels, such as Social Service Therapist Advisory Panel, Sun Ray Mentoring Programme, and Leadership Selection Programme, and as Advisor and Mentor at Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists Council.
Pal also sits on national and sector-wide committees, such as SG Cares Steering Committee, One Rehab Implementation and Coordination Committee, Allied Health Professional Council, and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital Medifund Committee.
Pal completed his Master of Health Services Management at Curtin University of Technology, Australia, in 2003, and obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Occupational Therapy from the National Institute for the Orthopedically Handicapped, Jadavpur University, India, in 1989. He holds an Executive Certificate in Non-profit Leadership Programme at Duke University in the United State of America under the sponsorship of Tote Board’s Overseas Scholarship Programme in 2010, and attended Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspective in Non-profit Management Program (SPNM) under the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy-Harvard Singapore Foundation-SPNM Scholarship in 2017.
