Early intervention
An Early Intervention Teacher works with infants and children with special needs below the age of seven, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as physical, sensory, intellectual or multiple disabilities. In this role, you will help the child to develop and maximise their full potential.

Key responsibilities
An Early Intervention Teacher requires an understanding of holistic child development, and the ability to apply appropriate teaching strategies to each unique child to help them learn best. This includes:
Employing intervention strategies to improve and enhance the development of their communication, cognition, sensory-motor and social skills.
Collecting and analysing student data for planning and preparation.
Conducting assessments periodically to evaluate the needs and progress of each student.
Collaborating closely with student families and other professionals to help each child achieve their personalised development goals.
Conducting lesson plans and creating learning aids.

Early Intervention Teacher Assistant
Key responsibilities
An Early Intervention Teacher Assistant supports the teachers during lessons by facilitating children's participation in activities that involve daily living skills, such as feeding, grooming, toilet training and other activities that help enhance their development and learning. This includes:
Participating in lesson planning, classroom preparation and teaching.
Managing children's behaviour using appropriate intervention techniques.
Ensuring safe arrival and departure of the children to and from class, as well as during field trips and out-of-class activities.
Assisting teachers in conducting assessments, implementing strategies and monitoring the progress of children
Preparing teaching materials and handle duties associated with classroom activities.
Working closely with teachers, parents and caregivers, volunteers and other staff members.

Job Coach
Key responsibilities
A Job Coach is responsible for designing and implementing a curriculum or programme of work exposure for students from the age of 13 years old and above to be work-ready. This includes:
Facilitating progressive opportunities for job shadowing, or school/community/industry-based work experiences for students before they graduate.
Accompanying students on work experiences and providing on-site skills training to help them acquire essential soft skills and job skills.
Conducting assessments of student interests, preferences and strengths, to help facilitate good job matches.
Working closely with teachers, families, community partners and employers in supporting students to be work-ready.
