Mr Chew Sutat

Mr Chew Sutat was appointed as Chairman of Community Chest in 2022, having served as Vice Chairman since 2020. He was also a member of NCSS’s Services Committee from 2020 to 2022 and has been involved with the Community Chest Committee since 2019. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Kaki Bukit Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC) and continues to serve as its Patron.

Sutat retired after 25 years in the financial services industry and continues to contribute as a volunteer in the social service sector and at the grassroots level. He has leveraged his extensive network in the financial industry as former Executive Vice President and Senior Managing Director (Head of Global Sales and Origination) of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Chairman of SGX Bull Charge to mobilise resources for the social service sector. Between 2016 and 2021, Mr Chew led SGX Bull Charge to fundraise a total of $15.8 million for Community Chest. Sutat has also been instrumental in connecting listed companies and ultra-high net-worth individuals to Community Chest.

As Chairman of Caregiver Alliance Limited (CAL) from 2015 to 2022, he has strengthened community awareness and its services in support of caregivers of people with mental health conditions. His association with CAL and grassroots organisations has given him a holistic view and understanding of both the social service and public sectors, enabling him to rally the private, public, and people sectors to contribute to social services.
