Fym Summer - Beyond the Label - Ambassador

Sometimes tough love may be the only way to love.

This is especially true for local singer-songwriter, Fym Summer. After years of living with her mother's behavioural changes and violent tendencies, Fym made the tough decision of calling the police on her.

This was when Fym found out about her mother’s schizophrenia – a mental health condition with symptoms such as being out of touch with reality, having false beliefs and unclear thoughts, and hearing voices that do not exist.

Fym, who has been diagnosed with depression and anxiety herself, is now the primary caregiver for her mother.

Speaking honestly about her experience with mental health through her music, Fym is a strong advocate for mental health issues. Working with 3am Music Collective, they share the common goal of dispelling the stigma around mental health conditions, raising public awareness and encouraging people living with such conditions to speak up and seek help.

Beyond her own mental health struggles, Fym is a singer-songwriter and caregiver.
